A different kind of safari

What Is a Camping Safari?

The experience

Journey in the purest form

The word "safari" means journey in Swahili. A mobile camping safari is that concept taken to its fullest expression — a small group moving through different wilderness areas, sleeping where the animals are, with a team of dedicated people who have spent their lives in the bush.

This is not roughing it. Our camps feature spacious canvas tents with real beds, en-suite facilities, solar lighting, and a camp chef delivering professionally curated meals freshly prepared daily — from bush breakfasts before sunrise to three-course dinners under the stars. What you won't find is a hotel lobby, a television, or a Wi-Fi signal strong enough to distract you from what's outside your tent.

What to expect

Every day in camp

Spacious canvas tents

Your tent is not a sleeping bag on the ground. We use large, heavy-duty Botswana-made canvas tents with custom beds and real mattresses, white linens, cosy duvets, and en-suite bathroom facilities. You will sleep as well in the bush as in any hotel.

A dedicated camp chef

Our camp chef delivers professionally curated meals freshly prepared daily — breakfast before sunrise, a bush picnic at lunch, and a three-course dinner by the campfire. Dietary preferences are always accommodated. No pre-packaged food, no compromises. Meals in the bush are genuinely exceptional.

A mobile journey

Unlike lodge-based safaris, mobile camping means your camp moves with you — set up and broken down by our dedicated crew while you're on game drives. You wake up in a different landscape every few days, experiencing the full breadth of Botswana rather than a single fixed location.

Remote wilderness access

Camping allows access to areas that fixed lodges simply can't reach. You camp where the animals are — not where the infrastructure permits. The result is a level of immersion and proximity that lodge-based travellers rarely experience.

Always 100% private

Every safari we run is exclusively yours. The guides, the vehicle, the camp, the schedule — all of it is for your group alone. You will never share a game drive or a dinner table with strangers. Your interests and pace shape every day.

Extraordinary value

Private mobile camping safaris deliver a comparable experience to luxury lodge stays at a fraction of the cost. You are not paying for a reception desk, a swimming pool, or a spa. You are paying for the bush itself — and a team that has dedicated their lives to it.

A typical day

Morning to midnight

Before sunrise

Coffee & tea by the fire

The day begins before the sun is fully up — when the light is golden, the air is cool, and animals are at their most active. Tea and coffee are ready at first light.

06:00

Morning game drive

Three to four hours in the vehicle, exploring the area around camp. KT reads the landscape — fresh tracks, bird behaviour, distant movement — and follows it wherever it leads.

10:00

Brunch in the bush

Return to camp for a freshly prepared brunch. Rest, read, or take a nap in the shade of your tent while the midday heat settles over the bush.

15:30

Afternoon game drive

Back out as the day cools. Predators begin to stir, elephants head for water, and the light turns from white to gold to amber over the course of a few hours.

Sunset

Sundowners

Stop in the field for the traditional African sundowner — a drink in hand as the sky turns every colour. One of the best moments of any safari day.

Evening

Dinner by campfire

Back in camp for a three-course dinner under a sky full of stars. Stories from the day, planning for tomorrow, and the sound of the bush going to sleep around you.
