Culture, wilderness, and one of the world's great wonders — 18 days across four countries
Overview
Begin in cosmopolitan Cape Town — penguins, wine country, and a legendary restaurant — before flying north to nine nights of private mobile safari across Moremi, Khwai, and Savuti. Finish your journey at Victoria Falls, experiencing the wonder from both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides. This is southern Africa at its most complete: culture, wildlife, adventure, and luxury camping woven into one extraordinary journey.
Three chapters
Chapter One
Three nights in one of Africa's most beautiful cities. The Cape Peninsula, penguin colony, wine country, and an unforgettable evening at Gold Restaurant.
Chapter Two
Nine nights of private mobile safari across Moremi, Khwai, and Savuti — three of Africa's finest wildlife areas. Your camp moves with you. The wilderness does not.
Chapter Three
The thundering finale. Experiences on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides, a rhino walk, a Zambezi sunset cruise, and a village visit before the journey home.
Day by day
Arrive in Cape Town and settle into your hotel. This evening, experience Gold Restaurant — an immersive African dining journey that sets the tone for everything to come. Dinner is included.
A full day on the Cape Peninsula. Visit the famous penguin colony at Boulders Beach, then follow the dramatic coastline to the Cape of Good Hope — the southwestern tip of Africa. The scenery is unlike anywhere else on the continent.
A morning city tour takes in Cape Town's history, architecture, and viewpoints before heading into the winelands for an afternoon at one of the region's beautiful vineyards. A gentle, unhurried day before the wilderness begins.
Fly from Cape Town to Maun — the gateway to the Okavango Delta. After arrival, visit an elephant orphanage for an up-close encounter with these extraordinary animals before a packed lunch and a comfortable night at a Maun guesthouse.
Your mobile safari begins. Drive into Moremi and settle into your spacious Meru tent — comfortable bed, real linens, private en suite bush bathroom. Three nights of morning and afternoon game drives through extraordinary wildlife and landscapes: elephants, lions, leopards, wild dogs, buffalo, and exceptional birdlife. Meals, drinks, and sundowners are all included.
An early departure from Moremi brings you into Khwai — renowned for its exceptional concentration of wildlife along the river and surrounding floodplains. Three nights of game drives following the wildlife as the day unfolds. The dry season draws remarkable numbers of animals to the water's edge.
Continue deeper into Botswana's wilderness as camp moves to Savuti — a legendary area famous for its elephants, predators, and dramatic open landscapes. Three nights here bring something new each day. The mobile camp travels with you throughout, so your surroundings change while the comfort stays constant.
Leave the wilderness behind and arrive in Kasane for a night at Sunbird's Lodge, a small and beautiful boutique hotel with a meaningful mission supporting women affected by domestic violence. Rest, recharge, and reflect on nine nights of extraordinary safari.
An early morning game drive in Chobe National Park — one of Africa's most wildlife-dense reserves — before a packed lunch and the drive toward the Zimbabwean border. Settle into Nkosi Lodge at Victoria Falls, then board a Zambezi River sunset cruise: sundowners as hippos surface and the light fades over the gorge.
An early rhino walk in Zambia's Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, subject to park access and availability, followed by a visit to a local village. Continue to the Zambian viewpoints of Victoria Falls before crossing to the Zimbabwean side for lunch and the main viewpoints of the falls — the full, unfiltered scale of Mosi-oa-Tunya, 'The Smoke That Thunders.'
Fly from Victoria Falls back to Cape Town for a final overnight before your connecting flight home. A quiet evening to absorb eighteen days of culture, wilderness, and wonder.
Your journey concludes with a connecting flight back to the United States. From Cape Town's coastline to the thundering waters of Victoria Falls, you've crossed four countries and experienced the very best of southern Africa.
